Powered Hang Gliding

The Mosquito NRG Powered hang Gliding harness by Swedish Aerosport reflects 25 years of design evolution and improvements. You are buying state of the art refined equipment that is exceedingly functional, simple to use and light weight.

New units are backed by a 3 year guarantee and supported in Australia. As well as lots of features and improvements, which make the NRG quieter, more powerful and efficient, several features stand out in particular:

* 7 litre internal fuel tank - if you have used external tanks and then tried an internal tank, you will be an instant convert. The internal tank means no mess, strapping and fittings or weight above your head. When you lift the hang glider you are lifting only the normal weight of the hang glider, which means perfectly normal natural sensations for take off and flaring to land - the fuel weight is borne on the harness skids and is neatly tucked out of the slip stream. 7 litres gives you a generous amount of fuel and airtime for normal recreational flights. For marathon flights you can augment with an additional one or two x 5 litre external tanks.

*Dual start - Electric start is convenient for inflight re-starts, but if your battery goes flat, manual start makes it possible and easy to still get flying for the day.

*Folding Prop and prop brake - The lean, sleek, carbon fibre prop folds back when you throttle back or switch off the engine and apply the prop brake, thus the prop is out of the slip stream and not wind milling. After a few moments of thermalling, you won't even notice the slight extra mass of the powered harness behind your feet .In fact, a powered harness is only 5 or 6 kilos more weight than a standard modern pod harness and reserve. They are ideal for self launched thermalling, with many pilots regularly thermalling for 4-5 hours in the afternoon on half a litre of fuel. When the thermals die and you are about to deck it, your simply power up and motor on home. No outlanding and retrieve required - genius!

*Centrifugal clutch - This is very beneficial for safety. The engine ticks over on idle, without the propeller spinning, while you are on the ground and taxiing. When you are ready to go, you throttle up and the propeller and thrust kick in smoothly. So easy to use. Launch is very similar sensation to aero-tow launching.
